Dog Loves You
Praise Be to Dog. Woof.
Praise Be to Dog. Woof.
People have spent thousands of years hoping that something vast loves them without conditions and without end. Dog people quit hoping a while ago. Theirs is asleep on the bed.
That is what this series is about. Not the tail at the door, though the tail at the door is real. The larger version. The love that does not check your record first, does not weigh what you earned this week, and does not withdraw, even on the days you do. It arrives at full strength every morning and has no other setting available.
Each shirt carries one face, painted in loose black ink and wet watercolor, looking straight out at whoever is looking back. Underneath, in hand-brushed capitals, three words. Not a hope. Not a slogan. A description of the situation.
Praise Be to Dog. Woof.
