Ask and It Shall Be Fetched
Praise Be To Dog. Woof.
Praise Be To Dog. Woof.
The sacred objects did not fetch themselves.
Someone had to retrieve the tablets from the mountain. Someone had to bring that baby up from the river, nose forward, trot proud. Someone had to carry the ram out of the thicket. In every case, in every story, across every holy book, a Dog showed up and got it done.
Ask and It Shall Be Fetched is a series of sparse pen-and-ink portraits of Dogs on assignment. They don't know what a shofar is. They don't know about Moses or Abraham or the burning bush. They know there was a thing, and the thing needed to be somewhere else, and they were available. That's the whole theology.
Black ink. White space. Every Dog at a proud trot, head up, mission complete.
Praise Be to Dog. Woof.
